If you get IFC (which I don’t. boo!), you might be interested in a new miniseries called IFC Indie Sex that’s starting on August 1st. The show looks at the history and evolution of sex in cinema, including interviews with Gregg Araki, John Waters, Martha Coolidge, Atom Egoyan and Miranda July, among others.
Even if you’re not gonna watch the series, there is a list of discussed films on the IFC site–and it’s a great place to browse for Netflix ideas. It actually reminded me to add Kubrick’s Lolita (which I’ve, bafflingly, never seen) to my queue, and I’m sure I’ll find a few more good ideas in there as well.
